In October 2013, the European Commission selected eight Russian universities, including Spbsut, to implement master’s programs in English in the field of information security. The main objective of the project is to create a double master’s degree program recognized by the European Union Educating the Next generation experts in Cyber Security: the new EU-recognized Master’s program (ENGENSEC er’s program) between 22 universities from the EU, Russia, Ukraine, members of the consortium. Participation of SCS Department in this project allows the University to bring training in the field of information security to the world level.
Tempus is a programme funded by the European Union aimed at supporting the modernization of higher education in partner countries from Eastern Europe, Central Asia, the Western Balkans and the Mediterranean. Supporting and developing institutional cooperation, Tempus focuses its efforts on the reform and modernization of higher education in the partner countries.
The decision of the European Commission is the official recognition of the highest quality of education in the field of information security and the great success of SCS department.
In the course of the project implementation the national educational standards in all countries-participants of the project were analyzed, the General structure of the program of training of masters unified for all universities of participants of the project (except for Greece and Poland having essential differences in educational standards from other countries) was developed. Working groups have been set up to develop individual courses. The groups are attended by prof. A.V. Krasov, Assoc. D. I. Kirillov, A. A. Chechulin, V. prep. I. A. Ushakov, assist. A. Shvydko. General project management from Spbsut is carried out by prof. At the very end of 2014, on behalf of the European Commission, the national office of the Erasmus+ programme (Tempus) in Russia monitored the implementation of the project. Monitoring is a routine check, some analogue of the accreditation procedure. No problems were identified during the monitoring, and we successfully continued our work.
In April 2015, during the working meeting in Karlskrona (Sweden), Professor A. V. by Krasivym was agreed upon and signed a strategic cooperation agreement between the Sut and Blekinge Institute of Technology on cooperation by mutual exchange between teachers and students 2014-2021 Already in the 2015/16 academic year our students go for a semester in Sweden, with their courses at Blekinge Institute of Technology travel 4 teachers of Department of SCS, and is coming to us teachers from Sweden.
